**November 2024 Update:**
With cold temps coming and snow in some places, think bigger water. Rio Grande and San Juan would be a good bet, with some sections of the Chama fishing decently (call your local shop for more). Pair a bigger bug (size 8-14) with a smaller bug (size 14-20) on your freestones, and keep an eye out for sporadic hatches of BWOs and/or Caddis. On the San Juan, we recommend streamers in the mornings and smaller sizes for midges and emergers.
Redds - Brown trout across the state are entering spawn, so please avoid walking on or fishing on redds.
